On behalf of our private returning couple, we are looking for a Head Housekeeper for their lovely property in Gstaad (canton Bern).
The ideal Head Housekeeper will be discreet, experienced, hardworking, multitasking, self-starter with a driven personality. Must have previous experience working in the HNW/UHNW private household sector and be looking for the next step in career development. Fluency in English is required, (plus Swiss German and/or Italian speaking would be a plus). Must be currently be based in Gstaad or live within a comfortable commuting distance. Candidates who would like to relocate to Gstaad or nearby will be considered, but no accommodation package is on offer.
Working days & hours: 45 hours per week across Monday – Friday (must be flexible on working times and be able to work occasional evening and weekends on request) While this is not a 24/7 position, ad hoc flexibility beyond normal working hours is part of the role and will be expected.
Duties will include:
- Managing and training one housekeeper
- Responsible and in charge for the cleaning and upkeep three chalets
- Daily cleaning of main home/chalet and two other chalets on a weekly basis
- Implement/create structured cleaning procedures for chalets
- Prioritize daily tasks and follow deadlines
- Ensure cleaning standards are in place before ending the day
- Create and maintain detailed cleaning schedules for all properties
- Conduct regular quality inspections of all chalets
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, etc
- Order and restock supplies as needed, maintaining budget awareness
- Prepare chalets/bedrooms for guest arrivals and departures from a housekeeping perspective
- Handle laundry, including bedding, towels, and delicate items
- Organize and maintain storage areas and closets
- Implement and oversee deep cleaning routines on a rotating schedule
- Ensure proper care of high-value items, antiques, and artwork
- Ensure proper disposal and recycling of waste
- Prepare chalets for seasonal changes (e.g., winter preparations, spring cleaning)
- Assist with packing and unpacking of luggage
- Organize wardrobes and closets
- Stay updated on latest cleaning technologies and methods
- Provide regular status reports to the head of household

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
